While you have that drive shaft cut in half you should definitely knew a video on replacing the drive shaft bearings I mean you clearly removed the bearing immediately after cutting it so you may as well show everybody how to replace it!

Cap off two pieces of square tube, drill a hole in each cap, lag screw through it into an oak 4x4, weld the pipe/spline ends of the drive shaft to the caps, drive forever. The square tube will use compression to turn the timber instead of direct force like a bolt running sideways through it.

You should use a "heartwood" post. That means the post was cut from the center of the tree and you can see the round tree rings complete circle in the end of the post. These pieces are stronger and should not split as easy. You can see in the video your post only has a section of the tree ring or grain on the end.

If you wanted to do this right; you should have used the strongest wood there is to make your splice. Not pine or dug fur. Oak would have been better but it too would only be as strong as its glue and fasteners before it would shear and spin in the drive shaft ends. For the strongest glue to use you should use this man's ALlist channel. allist.info/channel2rzsm1Qi6N1X-wuOg_p0Ngvideos look for glue or epoxy testing results. Why would they use wood when it will not work? You would have thousands stranded on the roads of whatever country they were in. Waste of time and effort...BORING~!~ Trying to tie "Dumb and Dumber"?

You should use a center piece of wood, this one was a tree split into four pieces and breaking the rings like that make you loose most of its durability. Then it will hold upp a lot better, probably not very good tho :p
